Most of the watches assembled by Black Label Mods are automatic watches, essentially watches powered by a mechanical movement (no battery installed).
An automatic watch is a mechanical timepiece that winds itself automatically using the natural movement of your wrist throughout the day, eliminating the need for a battery or manual winding. Inside the watch, a weighted metal rotor spins as you move your arm, which tightens the mainspring to store power and keep the gears running smoothly.
Manually winding a watch involves turning the crown – the small knob on the side of the case – by hand to tighten the internal mainspring and store energy. This is typically done when a mechanical watch has stopped running due to lack of wear, has a weak power reserve, or to give a hand-wound watch the power it needs to run for the day. Once wound, the stored tension slowly releases to power the movement and keep accurate time in conjunction with regular wrist movement throughout the day.
Watches generally fall between sports and dress style watches.
The primary difference lies in their design, durability, and intended purpose. A sports/diver watch is built for everyday wear and active use, typically featuring a durable stainless steel case, water resistance, a metal bracelet or rubber strap, and high legibility with luminous markers. In contrast, a dress watch is designed for formal occasions, prioritizing a slim profile, minimalist elegance. Yes you can wear a diver style watch for formal occasions, and yes you can wear a dress watch for daily wear. We tell our clients to wear what they want on their wrists, regardless of styling

If you are looking for a sports/diver style watch, our Submariner and GMT-Master II style builds are a great choice.
These are our most popular style builds! It is very hard to beat the traditional diver style sports watch.
If you are looking for a more dressy watch, we strongly encourage our Datejust style builds.
The fluted bezel and jubilee bracelet combination is very hard to beat! These builds come in a multitude of different case and dial color combinations, we recommend clients to choose their favorite colors for a build!
For those who want a watch that excels in both sports and dress, we recommend our Yacht-Master style builds. They are similar watches to our Submariner and GMT-Master II style watches, but they look more elegant!
