Frequently Asked Questions
Do your watches come with a warranty?
Our watches are sold as is, without a formal warranty. That said, we take pride in our work and genuinely care about your experience.
If you encounter any issues, please reach out. We review every situation individually and will do our best to make things right.
What level of accuracy can I expect?
Our watches use NH series automatic movements, typically rated within -20 to +40 seconds per day.
Each piece is tested prior to delivery, and most perform better than this range. Variations can occur depending on wear and positioning, which is normal for mechanical movements.
What kind of crystals are used in your watches?
Our watches are built with sapphire crystals wherever possible, valued for their clarity and scratch resistance.
For Rolex style homage builds such as Submariner, GMT Master II, Daytona, and Datejust, sapphire crystals are used.
Certain designs, such as Santos or Speedmaster style builds, require a specific crystal shape that is not currently available in sapphire. In these cases, a high quality hardlex acrylic crystal is used to maintain the correct profile and aesthetic.
What grade stainless steel is used?
Most Seiko mod components are produced using 316L stainless steel, a material widely respected for its durability, corrosion resistance, and finish. This is the same grade used by leading luxury watch manufacturers (Patek, Audemars, Vacheron).
You may see other vendors advertising 904L stainless steel, and this is simply not the case. We do not consider 904L to be better than 316L.
316L is slightly “harder” which makes it slightly more resistance against scratches, better for everyday use.
904L is better against saltwater/corrosion – but this is moot and we do not recommend swimming/diving with any Seiko mods in the first place.
Will my watch be identical to the photos shown?
We strive to match each listing as closely as possible. However, due to variations in parts, particularly dials and lume, there may be subtle differences.
If needed, we may reach out with options to ensure you are happy with the final configuration before assembly.
What should I expect in terms of product condition?
Every watch is assembled using brand new components and thoroughly tested prior to shipping.
As with all custom built pieces, minor imperfections or variations may occasionally be present due to manufacturing or handling. We view these as part of the character of a bespoke piece, but we always aim to deliver a watch you will be proud to wear.
How long do commissioned builds take?
Commissioned builds require time to carefully source the right components and complete assembly. We will always provide an estimated timeline.
Occasionally, delays may occur due to supplier or shipping factors outside our control. We appreciate your patience and understanding, and we will keep you informed along the way.
Can I cancel or modify my order after purchase?
Once an order is confirmed, we begin sourcing components immediately, especially for commissioned builds. For this reason, cancellations are not possible.
If you need to make a change, please contact us as soon as possible. We will always do our best to accommodate requests where feasible, though additional costs may apply.
What are your shipping and liability terms?
We kindly ask clients to double check their shipping details at checkout, as we are unable to take responsibility for incorrect addresses.
Once shipped, we are not liable for lost or stolen packages. If you would like added peace of mind, we recommend selecting signature confirmation and or additional insurance. We are happy to assist with this.
What is your return policy?
Each of our timepieces is carefully built to order, which means all sales are final. As a result, we do not offer returns, exchanges, or refunds once an order has been placed.
We always encourage clients to reach out prior to purchasing. We are more than happy to guide you and ensure you feel confident in your decision.
Are your watches water resistant?
While cases may carry manufacturer rated water resistance, we recommend treating all watches as splash resistant only to ensure long term reliability.
We strongly advise avoiding swimming, submersion, or high humidity environments. Watches with exhibition casebacks or dress style designs have reduced resistance.
Water damage is not something we are able to cover, so a little caution goes a long way.
What if my watch is not keeping accurate time?
If your watch has stopped or is running inconsistently, it may simply need more power. We recommend winding the crown approximately 25 times and wearing it regularly.
If timing still seems off, magnetization may be the cause. This is common and easily resolved with a demagnetizer. If you are unsure, feel free to reach out and we will help guide you.
Do you offer servicing?
Yes, we are happy to service watches that we have built for our clients.
Servicing typically ranges between $100 to $300 USD depending on the work required. More extensive repairs may cost more. Our goal is to provide reliable, fair priced service so you can continue enjoying your watch for years to come.
How should I care for my watch?
With proper care, your watch can last for many years. We recommend:
- Wearing it regularly to keep the movement active
- Ensuring the crown is always secured
- Avoiding water and high humidity
- Keeping it away from unnecessary impacts
If you ever have questions about care, we are always here to help.
What if I have additional questions?
We are always happy to assist. If you have any questions, special requests, or would like guidance before placing an order, please do not hesitate to reach out.
Our goal is to make sure you feel confident and taken care of every step of the way.
